PONDVIEW LLAMA FARM is located in Milo, in mid-Maine on 80 acres of woods and large pastures. A beautiful farm pond and flower gardens decorate our front lawn.  The buildings and pastures are accented with large pine trees.  The trees from the forest, Dick's small sawmill, and a sand pit behind the barn supply most of our maintenance needs. Forty llamas of various colors are housed in a 150 year old post and beam barn.  We take pride in raising strong  athletic llamas with excellent conformations and friendly dispositions.  We offer education and support to new llama owners. Our llamas are shown at various fairs in New England.  School and Senior Citizen groups often visit the farm.  When the llamas are in the pastures near the road, cars stop to enjoy the view.  Two Maltese dogs and two Pugs share our home.  They occasionally have puppies to add to our enjoyment.  We are sharing a few of our family pictures with you.
We moved to this farm in January of 1994 with the intentions of raising llamas.  When Dick was told of a herd of 14 llamas for sale, he immediately bought them.   Fortunately, we already had a charming barn and plenty of pasture.  Since we had no fencing, we stuck sticks into the snow and stapled a rope across the tops.  That and the heavy snow kept the llamas contained until we could dig holes for fence posts.  Our next task was to divide the barn into additional stalls and fence in separate pastures.  We now maintain three breeding studs, about 30 adult females, and babies of various ages.
